Looking for a few good men... How we work? As a non-profit society, we are grounded in adult transformative learning & community development principles, and our participating members actively engage themselves in identifying issues & concerns and look for solutions, together. One of our guiding principles is based on diversity & inclusion of voices & opinions; it is our hope that by coming together - consensually - immigrant men will constructively impact policymakers and service providers & engage in the civic life of our city. We are a community, where inclusion and solidarity among immigrant men, beyond ethnicity - is of paramount importance. Our members come from many lands and YOU are welcome to join us too. Membership in $20.00 and it helps us to cover the cost of printing materials, our website and other incidentals. We kindly ask you to please share this information with immigrant men you may know. Many Thanks!
A WORD ABOUT OUR PARTNER: EIMSNS collaborates and works in partnership with the Multicultural Health Brokers Co-operative, a registered workers cooperative with members from immigrant and refugee communities such as the Chinese, Vietnamese, South Asian, Filipino, Arabic-speaking, Spanish speaking and others. The group emerged out of public health initiative in the early 1990’s to enhance maternal and infant health within immigrant & refugee communities. For the past ten years, we have been providing culturally and linguistically relevant prenatal education, postpartum outreach, parenting support, family liaison and community development and advocacy support to immigrant and refugee families.
ABOUT OUR FUNDER: We gratefully acknowledge the kind and generous support from the Edmonton Community Adult Learning Association (ECALA), one of eighty-four Adult Learning Councils in the Province of Alberta who deliver or fund adult education in Alberta. The Council is responsible for allocating our Annual Grant to Edmonton-based agencies who provide non-profit, non-credit education services to adults. ECALA is active in and supports its community through committee work. We are proud of out partnerships and affiliations with The Community Learning Network (CLN) and The Canadian Evaluation Society (CES).
