Temporary Foreign Workers Resource Book: The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers has prepared a resource book for Temporary Foreign Workers that contains basic information about living & working in Edmonton, rules about foreign workers, and contact information for community organizations and government resources. These books would be useful for any agency or group who needs information about how to support and refer newcomers to Canada, particularly Temporary Foreign Workers. Operated by the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, they are currently open for intake assessment. Contact Trinity Manor 780.497.8786 and ask for Delmy or Joseph. New Program In Medicine Hat: There is a new program called Immigrant Legal Education Services (ILES) that is part of the Medicine Hat John Howard Society that could help men in this area of the province. If you are in need of support and/or guidance and live in the South East part of Alberta, this is a resource for you. English & Somali Resource: Edmonton Public Schools and ACCESS Television collaborated to produce a DVD (in English and Somali) that explains basic facts about the education system and Edmonton Public Schools. Print resources were also developed to complement the DVD.
